Privacy Policy for Masterise Products and Services
Masterise processes your personal data in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations regarding the protection of privacy and personal data, and in particular the Data Protection Act No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 and Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data (GDPR) which came into force on 25 May 2018.
Our privacy policy (the “Policy” or “Privacy Policy”) explains how your personal data is processed when you use our products and services. These are composed of several connected products, software, applications (mobile and web application, software for the use of the products, cloud services) that collect and process data in order to help you measure your sports performance through the visualization of your data (the “Products” and “Services”).
What information do we collect and when?
Data relating to your identity allowing you to be identified when creating your account or when requesting customer support, such as your email address, date of birth, first and last names, telephone number, postal address.
Activity data varies depending on the Products used. It corresponds to the measurement of your sports activity, such as your GPS positions during a recording of a sports session, the distance covered, your speed, the circuit where you practiced, and duration of sports sessions.
Technical data such as Product activation dates, IP address, geolocation, battery level, Product serial number and debugging information are used to use our Products and Services to ensure their configuration and security. Your bank details are processed in the case of the purchase of Products on our website. They are only used for verification purposes and are not stored.
At what times?
When you create a Masterise account, you must provide us with some of your personal data relating to your identity. This account is the central element of our Products and Services because it allows you to access your personal data.
When you use our applications, some of your personal data is recorded on your Masterise account. This is the case when you synchronize a circuit session, share information, fill in a field on the Application, install and associate your Products, as well as when you activate certain optional functions such as geolocation in your phone settings.
When you use our Products and Services, your personal data is processed in order to personalize the application. Depending on the purpose pursued, each Product requires the processing of specific personal data. From our Help Center, you can consult the user guide for each Product, containing all the information specific to the personal data processed by the Product, in particular how to configure it.
When you contact customer support, some personal data stored in your Masterise account is temporarily accessible to our teams until the problem is resolved.
For what purposes do we process your personal data?
The data processed through Masterise Products and Services are processed for the purposes indicated below. Different purposes may apply simultaneously.
Supply of Products and Services:
The data processed by Masterise is stored on your Masterise account and is accessible on your application. It is indicated as raw data (session, circuit) or data that has been analyzed or interpreted (GPS point, laps completed).
Accounts. It is necessary to create a Masterise account on the application in order to use our Products and Services. This account also allows you to manage your content and preferences as well as view the measurements collected through your Products.
Communication with you:
When you contact our customer service to resolve an issue you have reported, members of our team may process your personal data.
Marketing, research and recommendations:
Your personal data may be used to help us communicate with you, for example, to offer you surveys, contests, discount vouchers or events in which you are free to participate. We may provide you with information about our Products, such as alerts, changes, new features, sales offers from Masterise or our partners, or to announce new Products. You may be invited to participate in research by receiving questionnaires. Masterise is constantly improving the accuracy of its measurements thanks to its community of participants.
Improving our Products and Services: To improve the quality of our Products and Services and your user experience, we may process certain information to correct or modify software settings.
How do our Products work and how do they process your personal data?
All Products manufactured by Masterise are connected objects that require the use of an iOS or Android device. Creating a Masterise account via a device is therefore a prerequisite for installing our Products. Our Products operate via a wireless connection (Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G/4G), allowing the Product to be configured as well as the transmission and synchronization of the data it collects with your Masterise account. Some features are only accessible via the connection between your Product and the application. The personal data collected by the Products is stored and then transmitted to our servers on your Masterise account when you synchronize your Product with our mobile application.
This synchronization on our servers which are located in France is necessary to allow in particular:
- remote detection of anomalies on our Products which you can use as part of customer service
- updating the software of our Products to correct bugs, provide new features or apply changes made necessary by legal and regulatory developments in data matters
- backing up your data: in the event of loss or theft of your iOS or Android device on which the application is installed, you will be able to recover all of your data
- sharing your data across multiple devices: you have access to your updated measurements via your personal Masterise account, on any device on which our application is installed
Do we share your personal data?
Your personal data is not disseminated, communicated, exchanged or transferred to third parties, on any medium whatsoever. Only the hypothesis of the acquisition of Masterise and its rights would allow the transmission of your data to the potential purchaser who would in turn be bound by the same obligation to protect your data. We may be required to communicate your personal data to subcontractors complying with the GDPR regulations as well as this Privacy Policy, for the purpose, for example, of delivering your purchases, providing customer service, or verifying bank details. International transfers of personal data. Our Services are provided through hosts located in France and the data is not transferred outside the European Union. Mandatory disclosures. We may be required by law to disclose your personal data to certain authorities or authorized third parties, for example, to judicial authorities.
How do we protect your personal data?

How do we ensure children's privacy? Masterise Products and Services are intended for the general public. Masterise does not collect information from children under 16 without the prior consent of their parents or legal guardians.
How do we approach data quality? We encourage you to regularly access your account and verify that your personal data is accurate and up to date. If you have any doubts about the accuracy of your data, please inform us and we will implement the necessary means to correct or delete the inaccurate data.
What measures do we take to protect your personal data? Privacy and security are of paramount importance in how we create and deliver our Products and Services. We take appropriate organizational and technical measures to ensure online security, physical security, and eliminate the risks of data loss. Access to our databases is limited to authorized personnel with a legitimate need to access this information.
How do we use cookies and web beacons? Masterise uses cookies, web beacons, and other similar technologies to operate and improve our website. We also use cookies to personalize and display advertisements.
What are your rights? You have the right to unsubscribe from promotional messages and to request that we stop processing your personal data for marketing purposes. We may still continue to send you critical security alerts. You also have the right to access, rectify and delete any of your personal data. We help you access or delete your personal data via your account or customer support. If you wish to exercise your rights with Masterise or object to processing carried out by Masterise, requests must be sent to Masterise, 25 bis rue de rennes, 44119 Treillieres, France, for the attention of our Personal Data Protection Officer, or by email to contact@masterise.fr. You may be asked to provide proof of identity if we have no other way of verifying that you are the holder of the account you wish to access. If you exercise your rights with our company, Masterise will provide a copy of the personal data being processed. Masterise will process all requests that are not excessive. Otherwise, Masterise may require the payment of reasonable fees based on administrative costs for any excessive request from the user.
Complaint to the CNIL. In the event of a dispute, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties (CNIL), whose head office is located at 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 7.
Changes to this Policy Masterise reserves the right to modify this Policy, with or without notice, to block access to this site at any time, or to change the conditions of access. However, if this Policy were to be significantly modified, Masterise would publish a notice informing Internet users of this modification at the top of this Policy as well as on the home page of this site, and this for 30 days. We advise you to consult this Policy regularly in order to be aware of any possible modifications.>
How long do we keep your personal data?
We implement all means to ensure the security of your personal data.
To allow you to use our Products and Services, your data is retained until you request its deletion. In the event of a deletion request, all your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your request. However, if you have deleted your Masterise account and wish to use our Products and Services again, you simply need to create a new account.
